There has been a lot of discussion lately about scalability, brought about by Friendster’s move to PHP. Once again, I am amazed at how many people don’t understand what scalability means (even though I’m glad to see fewer and fewer people misspelling it). Scalability means “How well a solution to some problem will work when the size of the problem increases” (from Dictionary.com).
